Our Cake-Baking day.

Today I woke up at 9 friggin' am! Sent my mum to work and headed to Teresa's place. Mission of the day : To bake a beautiful and delicious peach cheesecake for her mum. Today is Aunty Noreen's bday. God knows that lady is just blessed with a youthful look cz she soooo doesn't look her age! =p So the pic on top is basically the second layer of the cake. The scrumptious base layer is underneath. We topped off the base with cream cheese filling and cubes of peaches. Then it was Teresa's idea to add the little hearts on top which I absolutely love! Then final layer is the strawberry jelly layer as you can see below! hehehe..
So we haven't really tasted the cake yet but I have a feeling it's going to taste pretty darn good! Yum yum! LOL.

The passing time..

Have you ever wondered where all the time went? I am only 21 this year and I do involuntarily feel old sometimes. I go out some days and feel the ache and pain in my back and say, damnnn! I’m too old for this s*** (laughs) and I’m only 21 damn it! I don’t drink as much as I used to, I teach now and most of my classes are in the mornings and I obviously have to be responsible and sober while teaching right?? I have heaps on responsibilities that restrict me from doing the things that I used to do or could do just merely 2 years ago perhaps. 2 years. Doesn’t seem like a big number but I’ve grown up so much in just 24 months and I ask myself, where has the time gone? Have I actually grown up that much?? Yes, you heard it right. Callista is actually a pretty responsible girl, capable of prioritizing and managing her life with some cuts and bruises on the way but I’m getting there. Some of you might wonder, “ what on earth is she rattling on about!” Well in simple words, we’re all growing up and we don’t even realize it. Responsibilities, work load and commitments may double in the years to come but nevertheless just remember to take it slow, enjoy every moment of it and trust me, you’re only as old as you feel. As cliché as it may sound but although I’m growing up, I’m not afraid to let my inner child take over once in awhile.Don't lose sight of who you are and have fun being you! What does it matter what other people think? Go out, get wild, get crazy but do it responsibly! You never know what you might wake up to the next morning. *winks**

The Launching of Club Quattro

Well, it was an interesting night that one. The whole concept of the four different seasons inspiring the different sections of this place is awesome! Summer : Restaurant. Autumn : Club. Winter : Bar. Spring : Lounge. As soon as we reached the place it was just filled with people! Free flow from 8 till 10pm that obviously we didn't arrive in time for! =( We could barely walk in the club which rotated our mood to a 180' turn! The biggest set back for me was that there was no proper dance floor set up! Just a big DJ booth smack in the middle of the club.

The view from upstairs. As you can see, it was super duper packed!

On the way to Winter Bar.

The slack part was the fact that there were just too many people there that just drove us away, literally! We'll just have to go there another day where there's going to be a lesser crowd and more walking-space! LOL. So we diverted our attention to some good food at Jln.Ampang. Along that road is a row of shops that serves Arabian food. Our all-time favourite shop is called The Castle.
Note to everyone: You will fall in love with the food there! Order the Lamb Kabsah or even the Tashreeb Lamb. I know it must seem like I'm speaking Greek with the names of the food, haha. But really, the names ain't important, the food is! hehe..

Overall, that night was a classic intimate and tasty affair.

B*Yaksha

Sometime mid this year, me and a group of fantastic girls from uni got together just for the name of friendship and for our love of dancing, to form our own thing where we just go to the dance studio and start breaking out some moves. It only came down to serious practices when we were requested to do a performance for this small event in uni called 'Flavours'. So we really went all out, practicing everyday, in between classes and every teeny break time we had! Lol. Don't mean to blow my own horn here, but we were actually a pretty big hit! haha.. So we got another request to do another larger scale event in uni called 'Sangkeethana Night' which you probably would've heard about on my Facebook profile *chuckles**. The thing is, our dance club in uni is totally screwed up! They rarely have any events actually for us students to show off our talents. So we have to take any chance we get to perform. Cz the one thing we all share in common is the pure passion for performing. Or at least I know I do. One time on stage and I knew this was something I loved doing. The crowd cheering. The endless practice hours. The fun times in the dance studio. Dancing. I absolutely love it! =)) So I've attached a video from our last performance. This just goes to show no matter what you're dancing to, it's the people you're dancing with that makes it all that special**

p/s: arghhh! there was an error with the uploading. I think the file's too big. I'll try compressing it later. So stay tuned......... Lolly pops!=O
